How to Prepare and Send Us Files

Photo and Logos There are a number of ways to supply photos to us. In order of preference:

  • DIGITAL FILES: Digital photos should generally be at least 11.5 inches wide by 8.75 inches tall at 200 dots per inch (2300 x 1750). Logos should be at least 200 (and up to 600) dots per inch at the size you want them printed. This can be complicated to many, so feel free to send us a sample image and we'll let you know if they will work or not. See below for options on how to get the files to us.
  • STOCK PHOTOGRAPHY (istockphoto): If you are using istockphoto.com, simply email us the names of the files that you want. In most cases we can then purchase them for you, and add the charge (about $6/image) to your account.
  • STOCK PHOTOGRAPHY (CD-ROM): Send us the CD-ROM or a duplicate. We'll take the images you need, then return the CD.
  • STOCK PHOTOGRAPHY (GettyOne or similar): Have them send us your images directly, or you can get them and send with the options below.
  • PRINTS: 8 x 10 sized prints are best, but we'll take as small as 4 x 6 prints (you'll just lose a little "sharpness" to your image. Mail them in (see below).
  • SLIDES: Slides will result in excellent quality images. However, they take longer to scan and will incur a slight fee. Mail them, please.

Getting Your Materials To Us It's easy! Use whatever means you prefer. We only ask that you send as much of your material in at one time, so there isn't confusion later with what we have and don't have.

  • CD-ROM: Burn your photos, your Word Document with the text, and your "Extras" spreadsheet onto a CD-ROM. Mail the CD to:

    The Calendar Factory
    Attn: Art Director
    1185 N Red Gum St
    Anaheim, CA 92806

  • Email: Email files to artwork@thecalendarfactory.com. Please keep each email smaller than 10 Mb. If your emails as a whole are larger than about 30Mb, it's probably best to use another method of delivery.

  • You Send It: Use a service like www.yousendit.com to attach and email over your files.

  • FTP: Send us a request, and we'll email over FTP instructions to you.

  • .Mac Filesharing: On a Mac, go to the Finder. Select the "Go" menu ... then the "iDisk" menu ... then "Other User's Public Folder". Use name "digitaldescartes" and upload your photos there. Send us an email to let us know to check for your files. On a PC, use this link to accomplish the same thing

  • Set an Appointment: If you're in the Anaheim, California area, call or email us, and setup an appointment. We can meet face-to-face and get your files the "old fashioned way" ... in person!

The process should be easy ... please call us if for some reason it's not. We're happy to help. Thanks, and we look forward to a great calendar!
