Have you got your own art staff? Maybe you're an artist? May you just want to use the designer you're familiar with. In any case, it's eas to supply your own calendar artwork. We call the program BYO-PDF, and that means you can "Bring Your Own PDF" to the party resulting in NO art or setup charges for your calendar! (Of course, that's assuming your file is properly prepared.)

What kind of PDF do you need to bring? Our specifications are as follows:

For a calendar to qualify for BYO-PDF -- and no setup charge -- it must be prepared per these guidelines:

• One complete PDF file in version 4.0 (preferably not higher) with settings as shown below
• 11 x 17 page size
• 1/4 inch bleeds on each size
• crops and bleed marks
• Images between 200 and 400 dpi native dpi, and included in file
• Page order: start with both covers; then begin with inside front cover; then consecutive pages
• File should be 14 pages of 11x17 (which equals a 24 page plus cover calendar)
• Images in CMYK color. RGB images are acceptable, but color may shift
• Any "effects" (such as InDesign shadows) must be created in the same color space as images
• Pages must be 2-up:
• - cover as front page on bottom, backpage on top and upside-down
• - interior pages must be as 2-page spreads, such as January picture on top and January dates on bottom (much as a normal calendar)
• Calendar cannot have critical registration or color in the crossover area (within 1/4 inch of 8.5 inches down from top of page)
• Allow room for the drill-hole (centered on page, 1/4 inch wide, needs 3/4 inch from top and bottom of pages to avoid drill hole
• Must leave room 3/8 inch from each side for trim... images can bleed, but no text or live material within 3/8 inch from page edge
• All fonts need to be embedded. Embedding the complete font is preferable to embedding subsets.
• Files can't be password protected to prevent printing or editing
